It's a bit of a surprise for the lady who commissioned it because she didn't request anything specific. Rather, she let me have complete artistic freedom to make whatever I liked, and this is what eventuated. I wanted to make something lethal, but still feminie. Let me know if you think I achieved it ...
Blade is hardened carbon steel
Guard and pommel are bronze
Grip is free-form pewter
Yes, you achieved it. Its not so much the rose, but the hilt guard and waving, but slightly brittle looking blade that gives the weapon its feminine quality. Very nice.

But even in this early morn Faintly foreshadowed was the dawn Of that fierce struggle, deadly shock Which yet should end in Ragnarok; When Good and Evil, Death and Life; Beginning now, end then their strife.
You know ... I think you're right. Looking at it now from that perspective, you got it in one ... I guess nothing else need be said cause you just said it all ...
I could have done lots more to it (like thorns, and those little spiky bits that hang under the flower), but those would have made it uncomfortable to hold ...
That is beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen the idea of a rose used that creatively. The flame-shaped blade ads a nice organic touch to a truly stunning design!

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
